Located on a major thoroughfare in a commercial area of St. John's, Newfoundland, this project entailed renovating an existing pet store into a sushi restaurant by taking cues from traditional Japanese design.

The design integrates natural materials and colours to create a calm and inviting dining area. The slatted wood angular ceiling varies in height across the dining space and is dotted with pot lights that hang in between the slats. The sushi bar at the back of the restaurant is composed of the same natural wood where square shelving is seamlessly integrated with the shelving on the far back wall. The natural wood and off-white walls create a warm and clean atmosphere for the dining space.

The design, which focuses on smaller interior details of clean, modern lines, creates a contemporary dining area that maximizes space without compromising its comfort or function.
