The existing building was constructed in 1910 for the Vancouver Gas Company and designed by Sharp and Thompson Architects. The program for its reconstruction comprises of three full floor suites in the existing shell, an additional suite of new residential construction, a full roof terrace, and a ground floor restaurant. Cultural memory of the site is retained through a clear distinction between the historic building and the contemporary intervention.
